Hogan Thompson Schuelke Celebrates Five Years of Energy Litigation
Houston-Based Trial Boutique Marks Milestone, Reflects on Major Growth Since 2020
HOUSTON (February 1, 2025) - Hogan Thompson Schuelke LLP today celebrated its fifth year in business as a litigation firm focused on the energy industry. In 2020, founding partners Christopher Hogan and Samantha Thompson opened the firm with a goal to become one of the nation’s go-to firms for energy litigation. Since it’s founding, the firm has significantly expanded from its two founding partners to an 11-attorney team representing energy clients nationwide.
“It’s exciting to see how much we’ve grown since Samantha and I started the firm at our dining room tables,” stated Hogan. “Within two months, the world turned upside down with COVID lockdowns and negative oil prices. But we kept focusing on getting the best results for our clients and continued to expand. In 2023, we became Hogan Thompson Schuelke LLP with the addition of James Schuelke as a named partner. Today, we have an amazing staff and 11 top-notch lawyers representing clients across the country.”
Hogan Thompson Schuelke exclusively handles commercial litigation, with a focus on representing energy companies. Clients include Chevron, Apache, EOG, BPX, Ovintiv, Chord Energy, Callon Petroleum and Escondido Resources. Currently, the firm is representing clients in numerous high-stakes oil and gas disputes in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and North Dakota.
