Hogan Thompson secures dismissal of claims against client in Eagle Ford Shale dispute

Partners Christopher Hogan and Samantha Thompson successfully got their client BPX out of a lawsuit pending in DeWitt County related to an Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas lease. The plaintiff in the lawsuit sued BPX and others claiming that he was the owner of a property on which he claimed BPX and others had improperly drilled and produced oil and gas. After discovery, Chris and Samantha drafted and filed a motion for summary judgment and, only days before the hearing, the plaintiff non-suited all of its claims against BPX, extricating BPX from the lease dispute. The dispute continues for the other defendants, who remain in the lawsuit.
